I’m a writer in my late 20s, trying to figure out love, life, and how to get the most out of my MA in Literature. I love research and, no joke, analyzing the heck out of every single piece of media I consume – so expect a lot of that here.
I’ve got an an opinion on basically everything. If you like strong opinions, candid talk about mental/physical health and trauma, and the occasional ode to fictional characters, then you’ll probably love me.
And if you don’t… oh well!
This blog focuses on analysis of nerdy media, book reviews, and lots of commentary about race in fandom and the source media that spawns our favorite fandoms.

Elodie Yung is going to own the role of Elektra. Seriously, watching the new trailer for Netflix and Marvel’s second season of Daredevil gives me all of the feels. Elektra is a character that’s been criminally underused over the years … Continue reading
I’ve wanted to write this since September when I got my grubby little hands on the pilot episode of Fox’s Lucifer series that showed at San Diego Comic Con. I’m a huge fan of the character. I got into The … Continue reading
Warning for: spoilers for the series, brief discussions of biphobia, consent, and date rape. I am officially old. Why? Because I watched Degrassi: Next Class on Netflix and spent more time worrying about those teenagers than anything else. Maybe … Continue reading
Some vague spoilers follow as does a mention of WW2 and imagery related. Half of this was written on December 30th right after watching the film. I just got out of Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens. I think … Continue reading
This post deals with different kinds of abuse in relationships (including implied coercive sex acts and assault) and dealing with the trauma that follows. There are also spoilers for the first episode of Jessica Jones. I’m writing this post with … Continue reading
When Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (henceforth referred to as AoS because I’m not typing that out all the time) was first announced, I wasn’t interested. Sure, I enjoyed the Avengers despite having held a serious grudge against Joss Whedon’s style of … Continue reading
