In December 2020, I posted 30 posts on my website and four posts on Patreon.
21 of the posts on my website made up a three-week streak of content and that three-week streak is pretty much why I stalled out on the Patreon posts.
I… won’t be doing that again on the fly.
2021 is gonna be slow to start when it comes to content because I am tired.
I am burnt the fuck out.
In 2020, I wrote 233,622 words across 132 blog posts. That does not include Patreon posts or commissions for other platforms. That’s almost five 50,000-word books’ worth of content.
I dealt with direct antiblackness from fandom, the stress of systemic antiblackness and police brutality, the fear of increasing white supremacy everywhere, the COVID-19 bullshit –
I’m exhausted.
I still have so much I want to write and so many things I feel need to be written about. But right now, I’m too tired to do any of it. I’ve spent most of 2020 writing for comparatively little feedback and reward (like recognition and respect) and instead getting really poor (and super hateful) reactions from a lot of people across fandoms.
And I do need a little break from all the work I’ve done and what’s basically a constant backlash from other people in fandom just to reconfigure my approach and get back to a good space to create.
I plan on taking the first half of January (at least) really slowly and then easing into content production at a smaller pace. I’m trying to figure out what I want 2021 to look like for me and for my readers and I want to make sure I can create content that moves us all but doesn’t leave me scrambling to meet deadlines.
Here are some tentative plans for the future:
One thing I’m looking forward to in 2021 is a second season of Stitch Talks Ish where… I talk to y ‘all! I’ll work on putting that together where I talk with nerds across about their projects, ships, and we just… vibe. Please ping me if you’re interested in coming onto that, let’s get in touch.
Get back to regular Patreon uploads because I dropped the ball big time on that in the latter end of the month. I need to outline and start writing fiction and crank out proper poetry in more sustainable ways for myself and my Patrons.
Guest posts from fans in fandoms I’m not in about things that concern them and interest them about their fandom spaces. (I’ve got 2 writers tapped and I’m looking forward to doing more.)
For now, as I figure out what I’ll be working on, please feel free to look at and listen to the content I put out to close out the year:
- Stitch Wraps Up 2020
- Meems Watches K-Dramas
- [Video] Stitch Unboxes BTS 2021 Season’s Greetings
- [Stitch Talks ish] Episode 9: Stitch Wraps Up One Hell of A Year
- What Stitch Listened To In 2020
In 2021, I’ll be trying to focus on the good stuff and on kind of recovering from 2020.
Thank you for your support and for your readership.
xoxo,

Here’s wishing you a good 2021.
