0:00:00.5: “History of Horror”, and “Horror Noire” are two of my favorite things to consume during October. Both are documentaries. In the case of “History of horror”, it’s a docuseries branching across three seasons. But “History of Horror” is like… we’re frenemies, “Horror Noire” is really where it’s at. For me, I love Robin Means Coleman’s book. And when I heard that it was getting the documentary film, I was like, oh, well, yes. And I watch both things every year on Twitter. I used to live tweet and I will port those threads over to my website whenever I remember that’s a thing I wanna do because I actually really loved the experience of tweeting through my experiences with media. And I can write an essay sure. But the rapid fire pace of here’s a thought, here’s a thought, here’s a thought were like really fun.

Late last month, the poet Richard Siken posted a tweet asking “So are there any women out there that ever read a Siken poem and imagined that the characters were a girl and a boy?” It is such a comical question because if you’ve read his work, you know that it’s really difficult to do anything other than a specific gay reading of them because of who he is and what his works about. but what I find fascinating is this one response that has gotten a bunch of likes and repost that somehow makes this about male/male fiction?

Like with Agust D and 2020’s D-2, D-Day is another musical journey through SUGA’s thoughts and his state of mind. So far, all of the solo material that BTS has released has been incredibly personal and deeply relatable and with SUGA, you kind of get that taken to the next level with this incredibly passionate and powerful mixtape.
Honestly, he has a kind of knack for tearing his own heart out and rapping while (metaphorically) bleeding all over the place.

If you’re an avid webtoon reader, you may have caught the images from and responses to Get Schooled chapter 125.
The chapter utilizes racial slurs, a Black character being racist against Koreans, drawn along the lines of racist caricature, and subject to antiblack racism.
The chapter started going viral on TikTok and Tumblr and, about 24 hours ago, was pulled from the English version of Webtoon. (It is of course still up on the Korean version and there’s next to no chance that it will be pulled there.)
Here’s the thing about Get Schooled: if you know anything about modern South Korean conservatism, this won’t be a surprise to you. If you’ve actually been paying attention to this webtoon – which has used a radfem (but not… technically in the way online leftist US-ians use it to stand in for “terf”) elementary school teacher as a creepy bad guy in one arc – Get Schooled kind of… highlights a lot of concerns of the modern day conservative (male) youth especially in Korea.
Obviously.
It is a Korean webtoon.
I stopped reading the series during the arc with the “radfem” teacher because, as someone who’s friends with several Korean feminists and who keeps an eye on the news/feminist thought, theory, and practice there… I was able to recognize the absolutely unsubtle dogwhistles and bullhorns at play in that arc.

This time it’s because I am undergoing immense financial stress and I’m trying to speed run through hustle culture, figure out if floribamageorgia has loan sharks I can link up with, and eat/drink my feelings.

I mentioned it in the GFM I’m doing for my sister and the niecelings, that my apartment was giving me trouble. Omegaverse is obviously a majorly important thing in my life. I am always reading it, thinking about it, and writing it. I only haven’t put out some horrifying Mahito/Junpei omegaverse yet because there are so many other, worse AUs that I’ve been busy with.
Anyway, I got into The Foxy Mouse’s Romance because… I saw a TikTok about it. For a site that punishes you for basically wiggling a toe out of step, the social media platform sure has become the main first site/sight for me when it comes to spicy webtoons and manga.

I don’t know how to tell the most absurd fandom brained fools that lesbians – especially trans lesbians – talking about how they feel alienated in fandoms dominated by cis male M/M content or are upset about the way media about lesbians and other queer women get treated by the professionals running studios… are not inherently terfy.
It’s the second time since February that I’m watching people in fandom – who aren’t trans femmes themselves for the most part – call trans lesbians TERFs or accuse them of having/utilizing “TERF rhetoric” for pointing out discrepancies in content volume or criticizing cis women or trans masc co-opting of “TERF” and “TERF rhetoric” to divorce them from trans women/misogyny in particular and claim that any slight criticism of fandom (of misogyny, of a lack of F/F, of racism) is in and of itself TERFy.
And it’s the same people doing this.
