I’m a writer in my late 20s, trying to figure out love, life, and how to get the most out of my MA in Literature. I love research and, no joke, analyzing the heck out of every single piece of media I consume – so expect a lot of that here.
I’ve got an an opinion on basically everything. If you like strong opinions, candid talk about mental/physical health and trauma, and the occasional ode to fictional characters, then you’ll probably love me.
And if you don’t… oh well!
This blog focuses on analysis of nerdy media, book reviews, and lots of commentary about race in fandom and the source media that spawns our favorite fandoms.

Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker is the focus for the cover story for Vanity Fair’s Summer 2019 issue and readers were “blessed” with dual covers – one with Adam Driver’s Kylo Ren and the other with Daisy … Continue reading

At the end of the day, Black women aren’t allowed to partake in the squee-ful space of fandom. We’re not seen as “real fans”. Our desire for Black characters to be treated well and to be loved is a direct threat to what fandom truly loves the most: whiteness. Continue reading
As previously noted, these conversations have been around for far longer than us, and to assume that we are the first to voice this discomfort, this anger, this complaint (per Sara Ahmed) is to be complicit in this erasure and our own eventual erasure. Continue reading
This is my review of Spider-Man: Homecoming. You can probably guess that this will have spoilers, profanity, snark beyond belief, and some major Tony Stark hate because I hate Tony Stark. Continue reading

So fucking what Finn initially held back from telling Rey that he was a Stormtrooper that defected in The Force Awakens –
At least he’s not an entitled, mind-rapey douche that keeps gaslighting her, who tortured her, and who keeps trying to kill her.
You know… like Kylo is. Continue reading
as much as i genuinely like ryan reynolds’ acting i really can’t get over how he and blake lively got married at a (former, obviously) slave plantation like… having your happiest day in a space literally built on the broken … Continue reading
